Shiv Gupta aka DJ Shiva Moon is South India's most well-known export to the Electronic Music industry. Shiv has been spinning his signature sound since the late nineties when he lived in Los Angeles. His stint there had him spinning at house parties from an early age and hopping from one music festival to another to catch various legends of electronica such as Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx and Faithless work their magic. This helped him develop a keen ear for Electronic music and an absolute fascination for the decks.

Returning to India in 2001, Shiv slowly became a part of the growing Indian electronic subculture which was still in its nascent stage. Inspired by friends and contemporaries such as Ashvin (Jalebee Cartel) and Tarun (Boombay Central), Shiv soon began spinning at parties across India. Over the last decade Shiv's contribution as a DJ to EDM has been immense. Besides playing at top clubs like Blue Frog, Zenzi Mills, Pebbles, Taika, Pasha, Blend around India, Shiv has performed internationally at some of the best music festivals on the planet at exotic locations across Europe to remote Nepal, spinning alongside artists like D-Nox, James Harcourt, Neuromotor, Goa Gil, Astral Projection, Shiva Joerg, Protoculture, Skazi, Talamasca, Atmos, Paul Taylor, Domino, Delysid, Exaile, PTX, Freaked Frequency, Sun Girl, Vectro Electro, Kinzadza, Sirius isness, Laurent Kaa and collaborating locally with Indias finest such as Jalebee Cartel, Bay Beat Collective, Kerosene Club, Boombay Central, Arnold from Mumbai, Kohra, Helium Project and Brute Force to name a few.


Versatility is what Shiv believes is the key to his popularity behind the decks. His ability to entertain a crowd at a wide variety of venues from hip bars to massive clubs and outdoor festivals, keeps him booked and on his feet through the year. Taking influences from a myriad of electronic and non-electronic genres and not restricting himself to any one particular genre helps Shiv keep his performances fresh, funky, crisp and unique! Despite being constantly sought after for his action packed high BPM trance sets, Shiv is extremely fond of and equally adept at dropping the tempo at hip bars and lounges across the country where he spins an enticing cocktail of Tech House, Techno and Progressive sounds.
