Ankit Tiwari (born March 6, 1990) is an Indian playback singer and music director in television and Bollywood. He received acclaim for his song, "Sunn Raha Hai" in 2013 hit film, Aashiqui 2. He hails from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. His father has a music group of his own and his mother sings devotional songs. From childhood he used to sit with them during practice and trained under Vinod Kumar Dwivedi ji. He used to practice for nearly 12 hours a day. He has composed music for films such as Do Dooni Chaar and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. Tiwari worked with T.V broadcasters including Sony TV, Star Plus and Colors, producing background scores some of their daily soap operas. He sang in some of the productions. In 2011, he composed music for Saregama's devotional album Sai Ki Tasveer performed by Richa Sharma. After that, he became a solo music director. He worked with STAR News on their project Khoob Ladi Mardani dedicated to Rani Lakshmibai sung by Richa Sharma. This in turn lead him to his next project Vishesh Films's, Aashiqui 2 directed by Mohit Suri. His song in this movie, "Sunn Raha Hai" got him worldwide acclaim and the song named as the love anthem of the year. He has also lent his voice to the tunes of acclaimed composers like Himesh Reshammiya and Ismail Darbar. He has number of releases in 2014 with movies like 'The Villain', directed by Mohit Suri and starring Shraddha Kapoor (of Aashiqui 2) and Sidharth Malhotra (of Student of the Year) in the lead, followed by a Rajshri Production movie, a Ramesh Sippy Films venture, a T-series project and actor Ameesha Patel’s debut as a producer with Desi Magic.
