Bal Mukund Sharma with Jaswinder bhalla had started a stage comedy when they both were studying at Punjab Agriculture University in Ludhiana. Later it took a professional angle when they decided to record their first Chhankatta and launched at Professor Mohan Singh Mela at Ludhiana in 1988 for the first time. The third artiste Neelu joined the group in 1996. Bal Mukand Sharma is serving as a Deputy Chief Manager in Markfed, Chandigarh.
