Gurdas Maan

Gurdas Maan is an Indian Punjabi Folk Singer. He was born in (4 january 1957) Giddarbaha, Sri Mustak Sahib, Punjab India. He is an Indian Singer, Songwriter, Choreographer and Actor. He is also one of the famous Punjabi singer in world. He released his first album in 1980 name as "Dil Da Mamla Hai". He is a enthusiastic sports fan so he jioned te N.I.S and acuired a MSC in Physical Teaching. He is also black belt in judo.

Gurdas Maan started his career as an employee of Punjab State Electricity Board.

Gurdas after completed his studies he started working as composing and doing stage shows. The play was seen play a producer of a Jullander TV station, who than approached him for a TV recording of his song, which Gurdas reluctantly held to. The overpowering success of the tune grabbed the attention of HMV who wished to record the track and from this came his first album in 1982. Gurdas started as solo singer, but that time the market full with duet singers and duet singers on demand. But he is being confident and performed solo. he is going on world tour with a company where he performed and create magic this unique voice and performance.

He has been worked with many of the famous music director like laxmikant Pyarelal, Bappi Lahri, Annu Malik, Nadeem Sharvan, Amar Haider, Charanjeet Ahuja, Jaswant Bhanyra and many more. Gurdas performed in two movioes like Ishq Da Waris in 2006, which was nominated for Oscar from India and Shaheed-E-Mohabbet (1999), the film which tells te real life of Boota Singh. He is also performed in Shaheed Udham Singh which is also a super hit. He is also worked opposite Juhi Chawala in 2004. but he is becoming well known for his performance in Isha Da Waris.

Gurdas besides his acting he is also focusing in his singing. Gurdas singing mostly in Punjabi but he can sing in many different languages like Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Haryanvi, and Rajasthani. But as actor he performed in Pujabi, Tamil, Hindi.

Gurdas Maan has also appeared in Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da (1982), Mamla Garbar Hai ( 1984 ), Long Da Lishkara ( 1986 ), Qurbani Jatt Di (1990), Pratigya (1990), Roohani Taaqat ( 1991 ), Saali Adhi Ghar Waali (1992), Wanted: Gurdas Mann Dead or Alive ( 1994 ), Kachehri ( 1994 ), and Zindagi Khoobsoorat Hai ( 2002 ) .Gurdas Maan sang the all-time hit ‘Challa’ in the film Long Da Lishkara (1986).His most recent film is Mini Punjab.

Gurdas Married to Manmeet Mann and he has one son name as Gurikk, who is completed his schooling from Yadavindra Public School and Mayo College. Gurdas has two brother.

Gurdas near to Haryana in 2007 he was involved in a car acident where his car was crashed by truck, he escaped with many injuries. or in 9 januaary 2001 accident he was so near to death but he was safe with minor injuries but his driver ganesh was died in this accident. Later he wrote and sung a song for his driver ganesh, is not only a driver for him ganesh was his one of the good friend of him.

Gurdas Mann received an honorable dgree as Doctor for his music from the university of Wolverhampton on 7 September in 2010.

In 20009 he won "Best International Ablbum" at UK asian Music Award for Boot Polishan.
