Hans Raj Hans is an Indian Punjabi Folk and Sufi Singer. He was born in a village Shafipur, near to Jalandhar, Punjab, India. He was born in a peasant Family. Hans has sang in many devotional and movies song.
Hans is the second son of Sardar Rashpal Singh and Mata Ajit Kaur. Hans has no musical history in his family, yet he began singing from his childhood. He started his career by performing at youth fesitaval and first become known by winnig musical competition in. Hans has learnt singing in Guru Ustad Puran Shahkoti Sahib, his guru who trained him, and bestowed his surname "Hans" on him. He is very down to erath person. He is also learnt from Charanjit Ahuja.
His voice suited to sufi renditions. He has been award with Padam Shri Award by Indian goverment. In the field of music he is very versatile singer, due to his immense love of sufism, he dedicated his life to sufism and keep alive in sufi songs in people heart.
He is the punjabi folk singer with his own style. he has performed all over the world in place like USA, Canada, Europe, Middle East and many more countries.
He sings Punjabi Folk and Sufi music but has also sung in movies and released his own Indipop albums. He has worked alongside other renowned artists such as the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, as seen in the movie Kachche Dhaage. He has made a great impression amongst renowned music artists and prestigious film personalities. Lata ji had extended a special invitation on her birthday where Hans Raj Hans spellbound the eminent personalities of film industry with his magical performance of his evergreen song “Yaara Sili Sili”. The legendary late Nustat Fateh Ali Khan Sahib specially invited Hans Raj Hans from Jalandhar for the film “Kacheche Dhaage” to sing the track “Ishq Di Galli Vich”, his debut Hindi film. Hans Raj Hans has worked with Mr. A.R. Rehman for the film “Nayak”
He also helped in fundraising along with Bill Clinton for the India American Society and raised 1.5 million USD for the Gujarat earthquake victims. His contributions include his active participation in fund raising initiatives across the world for humanity, peace and save the girl child cause. He delivers a truly moving message through his gayakee (singing) - “na nasha karo na vaar karo, je karna hai ta pyaar karo” (Don’t indulge into any kind of drugs or violence. Indulge completely into love).
Jaadu is his upcoming album in 2014, music from Dj Sanj ans lyrics are written by him and Satwinder Birdi, Veet Baljit, Pirti Silon. This album consist 11 songs in it, and featuring by Deep Cold & Roach Killa under the label of Kamlee Records & Speed Records.
On 16 May 2009, he unsuccessfully competed for a Lok Sabha seat in the Jalandhar constituency in Indian Punjab on a Shiromani Akali Dal ticket.
