Orange Street is an Indian Band originated in New Delhi in year 1995. The band formed by Aniban Chakraborty and guitarist Saibal Basu together. Their geners are Electronica, Heavy Rap-Rock, Indian Classical & Traditional and Techno. The Members of band are Aniban as vocal, Donny as Guitarist, Asjhwin as Drummer, Dara as Bassist, Imran an Hindustani Classical singer and Parveen Dhol Player.
Their participation in the ‘Great Indian Rock’ project organized by ‘RSJ’, the only music magazine at that time was when the band emerged onto the Indian music scene in 1995. They won the same in 2002 and by then they succeeded in making their presence felt among one and all.
Several line up changes were checking the strength of the band till 2002 wherein they had worked with guitarist Gautam Chima, DJ Jayant, drummer Ashwani Verma and bassist Neel. The band had released two albums and had already toured across India and Sri Lanka.
Anirban decided to completely revamp the band including the sound in 2003 and thus evolved with a ground breaking sound in ‘Dharma’. Along side the band has also performed top bands and artists like Motorhead, Trilok Gurtu, Timbuktu, Hanoi Rocks and Nizami Brothers apart from participating in Estonia at the Sundance Music Festival.
The award winning feature film called ‘Everybody Says I’m Fine’, directed by Rahul Bose used the songs of Orange street. Guitarist Donny is also a part time DJ who spins occasionally in clubs, while Anirban was invited by the Asian Dub Foundation to record on a track with them for their new album.
