Dr. Shamitha Malnad is an Indian Kannada Playback Singer. She was born on 9 June in Thirtahalli, Shimoga, India. She is also Dentist, Anchor, Dubbing and Voice Artist by Profession. She is mainly known for her work in Kannada film industry. She has been performed in Kannada film songs apart from Sugama Sangeetha and Devotional albums.
Shamitha was born on 9 June Thirthahalli, Shimonga to Prof. U.V. Ramachandra & H.G. Sunanda. She married to Arun Kumar D.K from Sringeri and has two children. She holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Vokkaligara Sangha Dental Colleges, KIMS Bangalore. She is a disciple of Hindustani Music Maestro Late Pandit Sheshadri Gawai. Started her career as a playback singers in the year 1996 by singing for the devotional albums "Kanive Kabbali"
Malnad was first introduced to the film music by the music director Gurukiran in the film Ninagaagi in 2002. She perfromed for a hit song named "Shukriya Shukriya" for the film. Following this, She sang for more than 500 feature films for almost all music directors such as Hamsalekha, Gurukiran, V. Harikrishna, Mano Murthy, Rajesh Krishnan, Sagar S, Sadhu Kokila, K Kalyan, R.P. Patanaik, Arjun Janya, Sandeep Chowta, Yuvan Shankar Raja, L.N. Shashtri among others.
She recoreded for Telugu films Nagavalli under the music direction of Gurukiran and has released seven solo albums in Kannada and Telugu which includes few remixed versions of L.R. Eswari songs. She also nade several apperances on Televisions as an anchor and guest singer in singing reality shows.
